If you listen to your curiosity it’ll take you to the edge of what’s possible and beyond If you start mapping the world of the possible, you start with what you know. At some point you learn that many of these things were once also at the edge of knowledge. As you start to reach the edges of the map, there are dragons and other fantastical creatures. Why? It’s because at the edge of our (naturally where our curiosity will eventually take us) lives literal and metaphorical dragons, undefined and yet to be tamed beasts of the unknown that you will have to fight and overcome. And through overcoming probably come to appreciate what it means to become a normal part of the map

One might argue that Elon would use whatever influence he gained by playing a decisive role in his victory to prevent it from happening. cc @aviationdoctor.eth

We're in the midst of Uptober. The people want to know what's moving. So we shipped generative charts for Gina! @askgina.eth can now generate a chart of any onchain token on the fly (with up to date price data) if you ask her to. This is exciting as it's a feature that truly pushes the boundaries of what AI agents can do + hopefully makes Gina more useful in feed. We're starting with onchain prices but want to add more metrics as we go along. Let us know what else you'd like to see charted! https://paragraph.xyz/@askgina/generative-charts-with-gina

The above depiction of a vessel in heavy seas is most likely an Aivazovsky work from the latter half of the 19th century. Difficult to confirm given the over 6000 works he produced over his 60 year career – that’s an average of one painting about every four days.

Emerging victorious from a perilous battle at sea only to perish in a storm mere hours later is a most wicked twist of fortune. Such was the fate of many aboard HMS Bellerophon, which had just helped defeat the French and Spanish fleets at Trafalgar. The tempest struck that night and lasted several days.

I’d started keeping the journal after reading of its supposed benefit myself and I can’t say it didn’t work. No particular reason as to why I stopped. It is interesting to consider lucid dreams from a phenomenological perspective. Your surroundings are in a constant state of flux in what is really a cascade of continuity errors with some plot if you’re fortunate. Things like looking at yourself in a mirror will spook you, but your omnipotence is always there to prevent it from turning into a total nightmare.

A fair few back in my days of keeping a dream journal. You just need adopt a habit of making some ‘reality check’ throughout the day while you’re awake, like the spinning top from Inception. One day the check will fail and you’ll gain lucidity in a dream. Might miss your morning meetings though..

There is a curious asymmetry in that a false awakening can be confused for a genuine one but a true awakening is unmistakable. So any doubt regarding the trueness of an awakening is actually a reliable indicator that it is false. Ever had longer lucid dreams?

I suspect that most people who say they 'want' humanoids simply mean they think it would be cool if such robots existed, without ever really imagining what it would feel like to have one in their own home

1/ Fireworks might actually retain its low-tech appeal – we like things that go boom. Aerial advertising may be somewhat more affected. 2/ It is enough for them to be autonomous and acting of behalf of a hostile entity. As Hinton has recently alluded to, something as effective as the Chemical Weapons Convention here is absolutely imperative.
