Just decided on taking flying classes after experiencing a wonderful flight on a single-engine private plane; can't wait to fly to my next hackathon/conference 😆

I was boolish on learning to fly until my wife bought me a “flight experience” package in a two-seat trainer and the instructor demoed “stall training” 🤢

Invest in a simulator as early as you can. Good luck!

Did you/are you taking ground school online? Seems like theres a lot of website that provide the info, any thoughts on that?

Haha that'd my one concern... the first flight, just seeing the fall foliage from above, the new views of my city... Addicted... hopefully it doesn't break the bank though lol

It’s very addictive. I don’t have a license but I have a buddy with a plane who flies often and prefers having company so I’ve learned a lot through doing that.

my big concern atm is the cost... trying to decrease it by learning most of the ground school stuff off youtube, but 40+ hrs of flight school is still ~12k not including getting to the airport

Try and see if theres an introductory flight near you! It helped me realize how much goes into getting a pilots license, its not just flying the damn plane but the communication w/ tower & the science you're pretty much required to understand... more confident in pilots, not like a drivers license lol

I've thought about it as a tool to help me fight off my fear of flying.

Oo yeah, clocked about 2 hour and now i'm getting my medical, and certificate to start learning... flying is probably the most amazing thing i've experienced in a while

I clocked 4 hours in a Cessna 172 like 10 years ago. I'd really like to get back up there

So true! Always thought it was going to be exciting, but the first time... oh man it hits different 😂 - flying a single engine makes me feel like we don't REALLY need flying cars in the future tbh, theres just so may places to land already haha

Currently studying for my private pilots license

would love to get my pilots license in a year or two (a little too busy rn i think)

too cowardly but it seems really cool. Gliders seem fun
