Got accepted to join a pnp group! It's my first time playing 5e. Any comments/recs on my stats before I finish the character?

Backstory! What I've seen work really well is create a few bullet points to embed into your portrayal of your character. Too little detail leads to a loose character. Too much makes it hard to do justice. I'd reco you come up with 5 "truths" about your character that are easy to work with.

Also, more practically, as the cleric try not to die.

An 8 in dex is going to be hilarious. I hope you play that up.

You'll be a charming well-read field medic. I'd make heavy use of Sanctuary during combat encounters. I envision something along the lines of Father Mulcahy from M*A*S*H.

yeah! All stats work. and playing sub-optimal is enjoyable too. Embrace failure, make it part of the story. Main thing is that you and your table have fun. (the people at your table, not your actual table, unless its a mimic. then it better have fun, for your own good)
