let's talk about some of the weaknesses of farcaster: 1. there are huge power laws to follower distribution based on if you were here early 2. a lot of followers seem not to be real or are totally inactive 3. a lot of content and conversation is crypto heavy 4. there's much financialization of interactions what else?

5. It’s way too hard for new users to break into. It could really use a more refined new user flow. I bet a large majority of the people who churn do so not because the lack of content - but because the lack of feeling seen or heard at all.

100% this is me. I want to keep posting and engaging but it's like screaming into an empty void. Any tips to get off the ground?

Focus on replying more than making new casts when you’re new. Build a base of friends and followers by engaging other people’s casts ALOT. Get to know people by engaging other casts. Join a tight knit community or 2. Most importantly, just be genuine and don’t give up. :)

This is really helpful thank you. Any communities you can recommend? I'm an artist and community founder on base. That's been one piece of overwhelm (maybe to be added to the list): it's hard to find the right niche communities that are still active.

Gonna shill my own community now. I created a /hypersub channel called /success a few months ago with a mission to help new casters find their way on Farcaster. We have a private group chat with 300+ members, OG and newbies alike. There is a small cost to join - .0025 ETH per month. 50% of that goes into a rewards pool for all subscribers. On top of that, I do a daily raffle for 5k DEGEN, 5K ham, 1k Moxie, NFT's and other prizes. I also do monthly rounds.wtf contests, and other rewarding activities for subscribers. Most people will get more out than they pay in thanks to tip allowances/etc. Please let me know if you have any questions. We'd love to have you in /success
