been thinking for a while now that church services should really just be worship + small groups

nobody’s trying to sit through an hour-long monologue anymore. it’s a podcast world, and if we’re gonna listen to people talk, we want to hear a conversation, not a lecture

I knew a pretty techy Christian pastor who put out a podcast on Sundays and his flock listened to that instead of attending worship - he pitched the podcast as the New New Worship basically. 

I found it and him fascinating.

They also had a slack channel and a hardcore punk band and fried chicken nights at the Pastor’s house. Were accepting crypto donations back in 2018. Wonder what happened to those guys. I liked ‘em a lot.

well lol wait i think the worship (music) is one of the most critical functions of a church, in that it’s better with community than alone
