I was chatting with a MLB trainer last night. Loved this quote:

“Every player thinks they should be developed. No team wants to develop a player. They want sure things. Undeniable players. You need to show you’re developing yourself AND that you’re a sure-thing.”

Applies to a lot of pursuits!

Also, ironically, top (MLB) players have only become top players because they think they should be developed, in contrast to assuming they are actually the finished article

So you have to present yourself as fantastic whilst recognising you have a journey ahead of you

Holding these two conflicting beliefs in your mind is a critical part
