Has anyone read Abundance? Seeing a lot of discussion on Twitter, I think I have to give it a read. Seems like folks have very strong opinions. What’re your thoughts?

it’s the same basic and pretty obvious markets based reforms center left types have been advocating for a while shouldn’t be controversial but the people who hate it hate everything because they earn their status from oppositionalism

Haven’t read but just listened to him on Doomscroll with Josh Citarella today. Personally I found the ideas pretty uninteresting and shallow. Seems mostly written to a liberal audience as an intro to considering that some deregulation could be net good, but that’s about it.

I will not read it because if I thought that the biggest issue facing Americans is that upper class people can't build an unlicensed third bedroom, I'd check myself into a hospital

It is certainly very inspiring and informative for people interested in the future of technology, sustainable development, and solving global problems but in my opinion its extreme optimism and lack of attention to social and political issues are among its weaknesses I recommend it if your outlook and thoughts like to be challenged
