I am starting to notice that people will very much dislike you if you tell them they have more agency/potential for action in the world than they think.

I encounter this ~1x/month and my guess is it’s a fundamental attribution error of sorts. it’s a really important miscommunication people like feeling supported, inspired to take action, find their agency, etc they dislike feeling condescended to, scolded, told they waste time or their point of view is invalid
