@dylanoa4 What is something that you've recently changed your mind about, and what caused that change?

That's a good question. I suppose one thing would be that I always conflated language and thought, but I've come to believe that imagery plays an even deeper role. Cormac McCarthy writes about this in a great essay called "The Kekulé Problem." Language is only a very recent addition to the mind, in terms of our long evolution. A great part of the mind speaks only in images, that's why imagery is so integral to literature, and why dreams have such a profound effect on us. So many great breakthroughs in art and science have come via dreams.

Carl Jung mentions this too. He thinks there are primordial images which grow to form archetypes or what I consider to be memeplexes.

Absolutely. There's a renowned scientist called Jaak Panksepp who approaches the idea of archetypes from a neurobiological perspective, a fascinating book called The Archaeology of Mind
