heard Toni LĂŒtke use the term goal oriented products as an evolution beyond products with lots of user knobs for tweaking user preferences feel like this is a big and underrated idea also one I first really ran into in practice from Dan and V

initially my reaction was somewhat against with the idea that users having more control over their software is better thereâs merit and value in that idea of users control but limitations but the idea behind (well done) goal oriented isnât to take away user control but to work harder to help them get what they want since I have a largely dev audience Iâll use a coding intuition pump: while C is great and thereâs a time and place for it using a higher level language that requires less work on the developers part to achieve the same thing is a good thing more so than taking away control gives you space to think on a higher level about what youâre trying to do

another: manual transmission -> automatic transmission -> self driving there will always be the specialist who loves and appreciates the manual but for most people who are living their busy lives and the automatic and then self driving are better
