heard Toni Lütke use the term goal oriented products as an evolution beyond products with lots of user knobs for tweaking user preferences feel like this is a big and underrated idea also one I first really ran into in practice from Dan and V

initially my reaction was somewhat against with the idea that users having more control over their software is better there’s merit and value in that idea of users control but limitations but the idea behind (well done) goal oriented isn’t to take away user control but to work harder to help them get what they want since I have a largely dev audience I’ll use a coding intuition pump: while C is great and there’s a time and place for it using a higher level language that requires less work on the developers part to achieve the same thing is a good thing more so than taking away control gives you space to think on a higher level about what you’re trying to do
