i'm setting up solana dev env for the first time, currently 20 min in, i believe what i need to do is upgrade my entire OS next. issues i've run into: 1. it uninstalled my Rust and installed a new Rust 2. it was hardcoded to use a version of git without any creds so it failed 3. now my ubuntu is too old

it uninstalled your default rust?? on my macos machine i think it just installed its own compiler as a cargo command

yes it uninstalled my rust installed a new rust then setup the solana cli then ran into git issues setting up anchor cli, ultimately my bad for just copy pasting the one liner instead of reading through the full docs https://www.anchor-lang.com/docs/installation
