Also this is a chart designed to outrage… considering the upper limit is 25% so the <70y/o cohort making up the remaining 75-99% would tower over this figure. I agree old people need to sit down, but this may also be indicative of politicians aging out and the trend of life expectancy in general 🤷

Just a knee jerk hypothesis and critique of the presentation. There are certainly other factors.. perhaps quality of senior health, lobbying interests, the ever increasing sophistication of strategy and analytics. Doesn’t change the fact that politicians are snakes and congressional Boomers are divorced from reality.
