Why does crypto not have more consumer apps? Because it currently does not solve many problems for consumers. Crypto has strong consumer product-market fit with speculative use cases. This is because it’s a) potential to make money quickly b) entertainment. The way to grow the number of consumers in crypto is increase the amount of entertainment in crypto apps. Consumers have unlimited demand for novel entertainment.

This is actually true! But prior to now, the cost of being in crypto was a heavy deterrent, also the “selling point” of crypto has always been financial. Getting into crypto means set up wallet with some funds, pay x in gas fees Once we can separate crypto from being solely financial, we’ll make progress and also now that cost is down(thanks to L2s), we might just be heading there.

Account abstraction -> sponsored gas -> no ‘deposit’ required -> huge unlock for apps that aren’t purely financial
