My Canadian family and friends are genuinely freaking out and angry about the tariff threats by Trump. People are really boycotting American goods and getting hostile towards America in general. Are any other Canadians experiencing this

The tariff on lumber is the dumbest of them all. If the point is to incentivize domestic production, where are we gonna get the wood? It’s in Canada!

I disagree!  The tariff on avocados is the dumbest!  Americans consume more than 6x the number of avocados that California & Florida produced in our best years pre-NAFTA. We can’t possibly supply the demand domestically.

Oh no! Let’s not generate billions to pay down our debt, if it means we have to pay an extra 25% for an avocado.
Maybe it will incentivize farming for avocados in the US over the long term? Did you ever think about that?
