Lefties who are tired of election “panic”: what’s the alternative? When was the panic not warranted? I’m serious in my asking.

Watch lefties just not vote at all bc Kamala was a prosecutor in her early years 🫠

I'll be campaigning to get as many leftists as possible voting for Jill Stein. I definitely would not support Kamala but more because the Dems are die-hard imperialist warmongers and not just because she was a prosecutor (though that is also bad).

One victory at a time friend. I do understand some of your core frustrations but… What you are describing is literally organizing defeat.

Right?! I lived through the Ralph Nader bs and personally I’m not interested in burning it all down to satisfy some pie in the sky ideals that doesn’t take the reality of current world politics into account. Voting for Jill Stein doesn’t stop genocides. It only makes things worse for large swaths of us in the US. If we had ranked voting for US federal elections then it would be a different story but in this current system I’m looooong done pretending both parties are the same w regards to our day to day lives and liberty. They’re not. My trans friends are safer under literally any dem president than literally any republican president. My uterus is safer under literally any dem president than literally any republican president. And the list goes on. It’s funny but most folks I know who are voting for Jill Stein are typically far less concerned w (and typically have far less skin in the game w regards to) what we will 100% lose under republicans vs dems.

Hope you don't mind me responding here, not trying to be rude just laying out my position. "Voting for the Green Party causes everything to burn down / voting Green makes everything worse for many people" Don't you mean voting for Trump? A vote for the Green Party is not a vote for Trump. This is factually false and undemocratic. "Voting for Jill Stein doesn't stop genocides" Except if enough people did vote for her, it would stop the genocide. Even if she didn't win, if the antiwar movement got enough popular support they'd be forced to stop the wars. "Had enough Nader bs" Ralph Nader made the country a better place with his activism. Anyway if you blame the 2000 election on Nader it's just not correct, he didn't take enough votes from Dems to flip anything, more Dems voted for Bush in Florida than for Nader, why not blame them? Or the undemocratic courts? "Stein voters don't have skin in the game / don't care" This is the opposite of everything I've seen and experienced in 20 years of political involvement.

What I said is what I’ve seen in my 20+ years of political involvement. “If enough people voted” lol.. this is where I’m cynical.. enough people won’t vote (not that I’d ever vote for Jill Stein personally but that’s besides the point). They’ll sit and watch their TikTok’s & armchair fight online for likes & follows. Fun story, I was in the audience at a Queen Latifah’s day time tv talk show in NY when Ralph Nader & Susan Sarandon were on trying to round up voter support for Nader in the election. When it came time for questions I raised my hand & said I was worried about Roe v Wade if Bush won. Susan Sarandon told me I didn’t “have enough faith in my sisters” & said something about how “Roe would never fall”. Took them a few more years to overturn Roe but that will never leave me & I’ll take any dem over any republican, any day vs voting for a Jill Stein.

That's fair, our beliefs are shaped by very different experiences. Yes it is an uphill battle to get enough people to vote Green to matter, but it's a fight I'm happy to contribute to, rather than telling people it's useless and you'll never win just give up don't even try. Obama Biden and other Dems have said similar incorrect messages about Roe for years. Obama said he would codify it immediately and then bailed saying it wasn't necessary. I agree it's a critical issue and that it shouldn't be taken for granted. I agree Trump is horrible and people will suffer which makes me infuriated that the Dems aren't a real opposition and exist to destroy the left and continue the war crimes. Greens tend to be highly engaged in offline organizing, mutual aid, volunteerism of many kinds, antiwar organizing... What Green just sits on tiktok like you're describing? None I've ever met. Anyway I appreciate the dialogue despite disagreement. ❤️✌️

Dems are happy to simply keep their jobs that allow for massive wealth opportunities via insider trading or whatever else, & give them socialized healthcare most countries w socialized healthcare could only dream of. Obama was a conservative dem dressed in left dem clothing. Biden is a career politician. But if you’re concerned w people dying, even the regular murder rate in the US is down significantly since Biden took office vs Trump, & Trump is way more likely to get us all nuked, but keep fighting ‘the good fight’ I guess. This isn’t me ‘giving up’. This is me being pragmatic about the realities on the ground w regards to US politics. Personally, voting 3rd party & getting Trump instead is not how I want us to go down. I don’t even see a way forward for a 2nd party in politics after Trump is done w a 2nd term, let alone a 3rd party so that nixes any possibilities of positive change for the next generation imo & I’m not interested in nuking the entire world my kids are gonna be living in.

I actually think Trump could be a catalyst to a viable third party once the destruction of the GOP is completed. There’s going to be a lot of soul searching going on there soon…
