It’s not a question of warranted or not, it’s positioning. We can both agree X is bad, but if your entire messaging is X is bad then you aren’t really offering anything just stoking fears. If your messaging is “here’s why Y is better” that’s something positive that people can rally behind. Using panic and fear is lazy and exhausting, people are not supposed to be in a state of panic 24/7 but it gets headlines and donations so politicians fall back on it time and time again. It’s much harder to show what alternative you are offering, but that’s actually the good stuff. If your entire message is “the other guy sucks” then at some point people are going to realize you don’t actually have a message.

Gotta be careful of what is actually true and what media and the right say about who is in a panic. Most headlines are clickbait, but then people start to believe the clickbait.

What is election panic? It makes me think of the Trumpies who get all riled up around the election and start threatening people because they're panicking, "roll coal" at people on bikes and stuff like that (like Selkis, reactionary). Leftists generally view election season as a time to gear up and hit the streets one way or another, in my experience. Plan, not panic, I guess.

Depends on the person I guess. The consequences have become more stark since trump but they’ve always been there. I say organize if you like a candidate and vote regardless of who you vote for because our voices matter.
