Was thinking about just how ridiculous this is recently, specifically with respect to AIPAC. If you think about it, AIPAC lobbies congress, who sends tens of billions of taxpayer money to Israel which they must use on weapons from American and Israeli companies. Those companies make massive profits and donate a small fraction (tens of millions) to AIPAC which is then bribing (ahem I mean lobbying) politicians again.

In other words taxpayer money is being funnelled towards corporate profits (already fucked) but in this arrangement the middlemen are democracy being undermined/corrupted, immeasurable death and destruction, and I guess… manufacturers operating expenses.
