He'll keep running until he's dead. If he loses this year, will the R's move on or will they believe that he lost another stolen election? "Former President Donald Trump said in an interview aired Sunday that he doesn't think he will run again in 2028 if he loses the presidency in November." https://www.axios.com/2024/09/22/trump-2028-presidential-election

He also said that we'd never see him again if he lost in 2020.

Heā€™ll be the R nominee for as long as he wants to be. Heā€™s completely captured, and even expanded, the R base of elite-haters. Every other R candidate is an elite almost by definition.

He had about 60% of the primary locked in in 2024. If he loses, I could see his primary base decline to about 40% leaving an opening for someone else.
