If you had to create another Farcaster client that couldn’t have the form factor of an existing social media app (twitter,tiktok,IG, etc),

What would it look like?

Something that leverages the social graph in a new form favor.  No wrong answers :)

7 ideas for merkle:

1. make signups free
2. enable signups on web
3. make warplet solana compatible
4. add phantom along with rainbow and cbw as wallets to connect
5. core team build a second client sufficiently different from warpcast (nothing like twitter)
6. make frame with notifications with pays people to like/rt tweets from farcaster account on twitter
7. acquire persistent IRL property where FC people can visit year round to hangout irl (like network school or year round zuzalu)

notes:

- ideas are cheap, but easy to share :)
- not sure feasibility on all these, some might be dumb
- nothing but respect for merkle team and progress to date

yea i want an app that looks exactly like the standard "Messages" app on iPhone but there's a tab for conversations you're a part of and another for conversations you just follow and all the text conversations are default public.

i believe there are many conversations that happen privately which should be public.

i should clarify the number of people participating in each text should look more like your messages than standard group apps, lots of 1:1s and some smaller group chats with 3-9 people or whatever, no more than idk maybe 10% of all of them should be larger than that, and more than 50% should be 1:1

Wouldn't this be a lot like Telegram or Discord but on top of FC graph? A group chat that you can lurk or participate?

Create an MVP for a Farcaster client that looks and functions as similarly to the Messages app on iPhone as possible but no need for any of the non-essential features.

This won’t just be an alternative DM client. But above would be an amazing first step. Then I’ll share more.
