Have you thought about embedding philanthropy/giving back or programming other values into basecolors/NFTs. If so, in what way?

In terms of philanthropy, yes. There was no compelling reason to bake in anything like that up front or onchain. Maybe later if/as it makes sense. Values more broadly are "programmed in" by everything we do and say not just me but you and others who join. I expect them to crystallize over time.
