I think it requires so much buy in from institutions and onboarding users is a pain too

Not to mention the cold start problem is incredibly difficult to solve

Agree, there’s always going to be a slight disconnect between humans and on chain as we’re seeing with Worldcoin 

Wallets can be sold for a price and we also have to make trust assumptions about the issuing centralized institutions

Yeah. Cold start aside, it’s actually a really interesting philosophical problem: decentralizing preexisting credentials.
