Can someone explain how Base has 18M active users?

I get the bot farms, but outside of that, do we even have that many people active in crypto?

a few thoughts on this: 
- probably a lot of activity based on projects building on base
- farming activity by people with multiple wallets 
- coinbase users that may more may not know they’re using something onchain 
- marketing efforts from base team for irl things like $1 pizza/coffee in specific areas

Yeah this is prob accurate. I know there's a lot of services that will farm Base for you w/dozens of wallets for a fee or rake. Also forgot about that last one. Clever marketing, hope I see one of those around sometime.

we have a coffee shop nearby that does this. haven’t visited but pretty cool. 

i think the main view to have is that this may not all be crypto native / active wallets throughout the ecosystem. some activity may also not fully realize they’re onchain and just buying cheap coffee / pizza.
