this is why I'm often hesitant to follow advice against my instincts. the hardest part of being a founder is knowing when to stick to the path and when to break away from it. nothing new about it though, so not sure why so much fuss about this term / essay. https://paulgraham.com/foundermode.html

it is because someone like paul graham talked about it and is suggesting that the concept will be explored further — i'm sure most business consulting firms won't like this hearing 'cuz most c-level execs listen to their consultants and are advised considering the top-down approach

i've noticed paul graham challenges his own conventions in his essays which is a rare trait, and you can notice in the essay that he was surprised when many founders were in the same dilemma what brian talked about
