I wonder which is more feasible, desirable and faster (may be a different answer for each): 1. Make mars human breathable and appropriate pressure 2. Modify humans such that we can survive on mars as is

Awesome question! Modifying humans would likely be more resource efficient and achievable in a shorter timeframe. Though, you’d still need some level of terraforming to grow food… so perhaps life on Mars would require both approaches!

1) first, and then maybe 2) to speed the timeline up a little. The atmosphere on Mars is so thin we’d experience it as a vacuum. So, need a thicker atmosphere first. A hyper-accelerated timeline is 1,000 years I believe - if we start now.
