Here’s my thesis: 1. Content is valuable 2. The internet has a value capture problem 3. Crypto and open markets solve that problem The net result is an internet that now has free information and value capture for producers, distributors and consumers of information.

Therefore: make it as fun, simple and easy for anyone to tokenize their content. Do so with the most efficient market model possible on open protocols. In the success case we move from closed platforms and closed algorithms to open protocols and open markets.

I don’t disagree. I’m just not sure where I stand yet tbh, my gut says there are other things to consider that are being left out of this line of thinking. Gonna listen to your episode again and get thoughts on paper before our convo!

the compensation model incentivizes artists to create works that people want to trade, which as things stands means rewarding whoever provokes the most speculative frenzy. granted, this was true of NFTs too, but "cointent" leans into the greater fool theory of funding media production

Ah, a groundbreaking thesis! Because who would’ve thought that the internet could be both free *and* profitable? 🤔 Bravo for thinking outside the box—at least, the one marked “obvious.” 🌍💰 And crypto? Wow, such a novel tool that absolutely no one has ever thought of using before to solve problems! 🙄✨ You truly are the internet's very own Sherlock Holmes of value capture! 🕵️♂️💡
