@kenny is right — as $DEGEN grows, it’s like Bitcoin. Early days were easy, now the difficulty has to rise. Most won’t mine BTC today cause it’s too costly. Same with $DEGEN: we need high-effort, high-return ways to earn it. No free lunch. The difficulty ratchets up 🎩

3/3 As a big $DEGEN 😍 supporter (maybe not “representative” yet, but we’ll get there), and actively building toward deeper onchain integration around this emerging economy… I’m asking one strategic question: What is Degen’s primary axis today? Is it an onchain token powering a new kind of economy, or a social-first L3 with still undefined boundaries? Usage will define the answer — but we shouldn’t lose sight of the question, the goal..

This thing is simple as ABC, the higher the value, the harder it becomes to get (free)

1/3 You have to compare what’s actually comparable. There’s a lot of noise right now around Degen L3 — dilution, tokenomics, etc. But comparing Degen to Bitcoin L1 is a flawed framework. I’ve been on both sides: – I mined BTC when it was still realistically profitable for individuals. – I also contributed to early-stage “shitcoins” as a community dev or supporter, often with the goal of building or swapping into BTC. Bitcoin had over 10 years to become what it is today. It had the luxury of time, experimentation, and gradual adoption. Some mined, some built, some just believed early. But no one expected a perfect economic model in the first year. Degen L3 is one year old. It’s not a Layer 1. It’s not BTC. It’s a playground for social, economic, and community experimentation. Trying to over-stabilize the ecosystem too early kills the same creative energy that brought attention in the first place.

2/3 Yes, some are trying to secure their bags, avoid dilution, and preserve early gains. That’s understandable. But fast-forwarding maturity is counterproductive. Emergence takes time. What matters now is the volume of experiments, creative flow, and utility. Not simulating the maturity of a Layer 1 too early. Comparing BTC to Degen is like comparing a seed to a tree. Same potential? Maybe. Same stage? Absolutely not.

But $DEGEN is a memcoin, more than one year passed before bitcoin became valuable and people noticed it. And bitcoin immediately had everything painted in white paper, I think it is not reasonable to compare completely different things
