it's not as simple as going back to the old system because that old system wasn't designed for a $100M memecoin

tipping worked because no one thought the tips were worth anything

as soon as tips became valuable, the reward to farm was too high and we fell into this endless cat and mouse game of policing tips that @bitfloorsghost.eth rightly points out has ruined the fun for everyone

but we can't just bring tips back as they were either

it's like Bitcoin mining, early on the difficulty was low but it ratcheted up as Bitcoin became more valuable 

the network would be destroyed if we took Bitcoin back to those low difficulty levels again

so how does DEGEN get saved? you need to find new HIGH DIFFICULTY ways to distribute the airdrops so they go to people that actually put in effort

@kenny is right — as $DEGEN grows, it’s like Bitcoin. Early days were easy, now the difficulty has to rise. Most won’t mine BTC today cause it’s too costly. Same with $DEGEN: we need high-effort, high-return ways to earn it. No free lunch. The difficulty ratchets up 🎩

But $DEGEN is a memcoin, more than one year passed before bitcoin became valuable and people noticed it. And bitcoin immediately had everything painted in white paper, I think it is not reasonable to compare completely different things

Yeah totally, I think it’ll take time for Degen to get to that level. It’s still early and maturing, and like any real community project, it’s probably gonna take years to really find its footing and evolve into something more solid.
