Hindsight is 20/20 and I was there when the decision to rename to Warpcast happened, but it should've never been renamed Warpcast. But after it was, there should've been a better effort to distinguish the two in public discourse. And now, the brand value has accrued to Farcaster, not Warpcast.

I actually agree with this, after sleeping on it, I think the rename was more of an effort to educate users on the difference between clients & protocols than a staunch credible-neutrality-maxi stance. If this is true, then I don't see a problem with renaming the app.

Educating users on the distinction between clients & protocols seems to be the main goal of the rename. If this clarifies the app's purpose, then the change appears justified.
