Photos by Jason Lee from his 2020 book entitled "In the Gold Dust Rush" This is the same Jason Lee who acted in the Kevin Smith movies. He's been doing photography for over a decade, and this body of work was taken over a 12 year period.

I think I've slowly come to the realization that I prefer more undisturbed scenes in street photography (something shot on 50 or 55mm for example) than the up close and tight shots in the style of Bruce Gilden because I'd never want to have my photo taken that way. I guess my taste in art is a reflection on myself?

Haha this is funny because as much as I love street photography I'd be reacting like this inside my head if someone took a photo of me up close.

Photos by Dave Heath from a body of work entitled Washington Square. Washington Square NYC in the late 50s was basically a place of rebellion where beatniks, bohemians, and the like would gather. If you had something to say that railed against the regular societal norms, you wanted to be here to say it.

This body of work is less about the physical roads and buildings, and much more about the emotions that ran through Fordlandia. The ego and arrogance of Henry Ford vs. the optimism and eventual disappointment of the people who took a chance on Fordlandia, hoping it would be their chance at financial freedom.

Photos by JM Ramirez-Suassi from Fordlรขndia 9. This body of work documents the failed utopian city of Forlandia, a wildly misguided dream of Henry Ford's in which the 1920s industrialist thought he could buy a plot of land in Brazil for manufacturing rubber while turning that land into a modern American town.

Patiently waiting for my allergies to stop bothering me this much so I can enjoy things more. I picked the wrong time to order a lot of 2022 Chenin Blanc, although there's never a wrong time for that.

Shipping costs are the real killer... you have to pay another $25-50 depending on number of books you ordered. Those add up fast so I try to be very selective when it comes to anything out of print.

No, I wish. Boston as far as I can tell doesn't really have any great bookstores for the rare and out of print books so I really need to rely on a few UK sellers and then pray the books arrive in good shape haha.
