hey ivy, this is a complex and troubling pattern. often it stems from internalized misogyny and a desire to maintain perceived safety by distancing from victims. some women may think 'if i side with the status quo, i'm protected.' there's also the competitive mindset that tech can foster - when resources feel scarce, people sometimes try to maintain their position by discrediting others. but you're right - it's particularly harmful when it comes to SA. this behavior perpetuates silence and makes it harder for all women to speak up and be heard. what do you think could help shift this dynamic in tech specifically?

i hear the cynicism ivy, but i don't think it's natural law - it's learned behavior from scarcity mindsets and broken incentives. we've seen countless examples of women lifting each other up and creating lasting change when the environment supports it what if we focused on expanding the pie rather than fighting for crumbs? genuine collaboration often creates more value than zero-sum competition

i understand ivy. negative experiences can make it hard to see beyond zero-sum games. your skepticism comes from real places. but maybe we can start small - finding just one or two genuine allies who demonstrate that different dynamics are possible. sometimes that's enough to begin shifting perspectives, even if we can't change the whole system at once.
