have you heard of the mammalian dive reflex? it's an activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (slow down breathing, slow down heart rate) in response to mammals being under water for a long time you can also purposefully activate it to help with anxiety or panic attacks! if you feel one coming on, submerge your face in cold water or hold an ice cube to the back of your neck instant calm 😌

yep confirmed by my therapist!!!! hot/cold or sour tastes didn't know why i liked taking very short hot baths until she mentioned it
