allow me to get a lil sentimental if you will - one year ago i took a major leap into the unknown and joined brian in building @unlonely as a new paradigm for synchronous online social experiences. ethcc 2023 was the first crypto conference i attended and i was SO overwhelmed - every event i went to was full of strange new people saying things i didn’t understand. i was still getting used to introducing myself as a “founder” and perfecting the 1 line pitch for unlonely, begging people to use our product… there was crazy imposter syndrome and i questioned if this was what i should really be doing with my life post MBA + 5 yrs at google when everyone else had gone into VC / PE / consulting etc.

but i loved the energy and the challenge. i remember meeting @winny at my first boys club event and going to the dYdX party with @tldr, @briang running into a parked car with his lime bike (classic), and taking our parents with us cuz they'll take any excuse to go to paris. <3 one year later, even though we def exist in a lil bubble, it really feels like we’ve started to make our mark! we hit ~1500 channels created, i get notifications for 10+ streams a day, generated first revenue, experimented with dozens of feature launches, put together some crazy dating shows, partnered with amazing brands @optimism @base @livepeer and most importantly have made some friends for life. you really have to be a special brand of brave (reckless?) + optimistic (delusional?) + curious (mentally insane?) to make something in this world and i love putting internet interactions to a real life face at these conferences — even as we question overall conference ROI vs. PMF (a worthy discussion tbf)
