hot take: anon people with “hot takes” are the most beta of beta energy. sharing a strong POV takes a lot more courage when there is reputational, social, and financial capital on the line — and rarely is that ever the case when one is anon.

that this is framed as alpha vs beta is a really good example of why anonymity is vital to the success of any public commons

never mentioned alpha or implied it was alpha vs beta, did i? it could be argued that the behavior that i described as requiring more courage is likely omega — driven, intelligent, and little desire to conform to alpha or beta norms. humanity is rarely black vs white, A vs B. we are a vast spectrum of variants, no?

when you label something as beta you are implying a hierarchy yes

sure, i can see how you’d interpret it that way given people typically position it as alpha vs beta. i did just clarify that wasn’t the intention with this cast, and i’ll be more careful in the future. again, humanity is vastly varied. some people may consider beta to be the top of the so-called hierarchy
