More than anything, I truly despise people who take advantage of my willingness to help and exploit other aid workers in the war zone. Here’s what I’m dealing with now: a British medic on the frontlines in Ukraine is trying to pull some sketchy medical supply schemes for his personal gain and exploit nonprofits and local volunteers on the ground. His requests to @crystalhearts and several other orgs seemed so off, and luckily my intuition was screaming that something was not right. Over the past few days, I managed to get him investigated by his current superiors & his previous units with some extra help of my friends in Defense Intelligence. We’re now at the “fuck around and find out” and “play stupid games, win stupid prizes” stage of this drama.

A bit confused by this comment… so I’d assume may be my post wasn’t very clear. Life-saving medical supplies, provided to save lives and purchased by nonprofits and volunteers using donations from people all over the world, should be going where they are truly needed. Instead, he is collecting these supplies from numerous organizations to resell them and make thousands of dollars for himself, while the medics on his actual team, who genuinely need these supplies to save lives, are left with nothing and struggling to receive help. People will die because there is no supplies. So i don’t think him being on the frontlines would actually excuse his scam that will costs people’s lives. And I’m confident that people donating to nonprofits and volunteers would wanna know that the funds went where they were needed and not into the pocket of some guy who is trying to pull a scam.

Ha, okay. Yeah, he is very smart and manipulative, and because he is indeed risking his life on the frontlines himself, people have no reason to suspect anything. We just uncovered that aside from supplies, he also managed to get a truck from a nonprofit under the pretense of it being a “medical evacuation vehicle.” Of course, that turned out to be a lie—he got it as his personal car and sent it straight to Kyiv, very far away from the frontlines, so probably also will end up being for sale.

i’m deeply upset to hear this. in case you didn’t know, i’m active duty in the navy, so i fully understand how much those frontline warriors in dire depend on those supplies

Oh wow! I didn’t know 🙏. And yes, the chief medic from his unit and his commander are shocked, as they are in dire need of supplies. They said they haven’t been able to get any tourniquets, chest seals, gauze, or quality medical supplies recently. So knowing they have someone who is reaching out on behalf of their unit, using their name and reputation, but to not actually give them the supplies must be horrible to know. (And also, how can you even trust someone like that on the battlefield, knowing they tried to steal and make money off of something that could have saved others in their unit?) And he is definitely trying to lie to his commander, saying that he never requested anything from any nonprofit and none of it is true. but we all have receipts 🤷🏼‍♀️ and now all the confirmations from his previous units of things that he has done…

definitely a pattern. Funny part is, there’s a team of aid workers near the frontline currently delivering supplies (including some of @crystalhearts’ stuff) near his unit’s location. We were joking today that they wanted to drop in and have a “talk” with him 🥊 and now I realize they weren’t joking 😅. They’re actually driving there to make sure this guy understands who he’s fucking with, along with other consequences he is about to get
