I have A LOT of sisters, 4 in total, all older. So, not only am I the only boy, I'm also the baby of the family, Korean's call me the magnae, which translates to "he who's shit don't stink". Ok, that's not true, it just means the youngest. 😂 It's pretty clear that my dad really wanted a boy. After having kids of my own, I would regularly tell my parents I think they got short changed. "All of that to get to me? You got robbed dude." I'm so grateful to have my sisters, they mean the world to me. Actually, their influence plus being the youngest probably explains why I get along with everyone here (re: chronically immature), esp since I'm on the older side of the population distribution on WC (I'm late Gen X, not a boomer you snarky bastards) So much of who we are, is shaped by the brothers, the sisters, we had and didn't, to get us right here, right now. What about you? How did your family shape you and your world view? P.S. We all have kids of our own now and guess what...they all had girls! Figures

i’m the oldest, with just me and my brother, who’s a year younger. it’s not really a thing anymore, but somehow, it still feels like the oldest takes care of the whole family—parents, my brother, and myself. luckily, my brother takes care of the family back in Jersey while i’m on active duty. i’m really grateful to have him and to call him my brother!

That is pure man. I love this. I can't remember if we talked about this before? Are they in Fort Lee? The expectation of the oldest is still a thing, but yeah maybe not as explicit and the fact that there are 2 boys gives you both the support of each other. Glad you two are tight, sometimes that relationship is iffy in Korean families. Testament to your characters.

Nice, you don't need to be on the phone 24/7. The blood is strong enough. Oh, Closter. I thought Fort Lee had a city ordinance where all of the State's Koreans had to move there. j/k
