Solana Celebrates 5 Years of Operations! Solana celebrated its 5-year anniversary on Sunday, a major milestone for the network, which is currently the sixth-largest cryptocurrency in the world by market cap. Since its mainnet launch in March 2020, Solana has generated over 254 million blocks with a total value locked (TVL) of $7 billion, according to DeFiLlama. The stablecoin value on the network is now $11 billion, down slightly from its peak of $12.6 billion in February 2025. Solana has also achieved an impressive feat by attracting 7,625 new developers in 2024, representing 19.5% of all new entrants to the space. Institutional adoption has also increased, with FalconX executing the first-ever trading of Solana CME Group futures.
