What role does the Moon play in trading, and in general in human behavior? Larry Williams, a successful trader, has a book called “How I made a million dollars last year trading commodities” in which he has a chapter called “The Great Moon Secret” where he says the following: “I want to demonstrate that the Moon definitely has a significant influence on human behavior. This influence is so strong that it affects the price movements of a number of commodity markets. How this process occurs is unknown. But I have repeatedly observed how some markets react with great precision to the phases of the Moon, falling during the New Moon and starting to rise during the Full Moon.”

Experts note that the rule "has been holding back innovation and the development of digital assets in the United States." A bill to repeal the rule initially received bipartisan support, but former US President Joe Biden vetoed it in 2024. The repeal of SAB 121 was a major step that was supported by many in the crypto industry and lawmakers.
