5 facts about Van Gogh's "Starry Night" (1889) โœจ ๐Ÿ’™ The painting was painted in the psychiatric clinic of Saint-Remy, where the artist went after the episode with the ear. Van Gogh looked at the sky through the bars, and it looked like this. ๐Ÿ’™ The artist himself considered his masterpiece a failure. He wrote to Theo that the stars were "too big" and his "distortion experiments had failed." ๐Ÿ’™ A year earlier, another "Starry Night" was created, known as the "Starry Night over the Rhone". ๐Ÿ’™ There is a theory that in this work Van Gogh depicted the most complex concept of turbulence. ๐Ÿ’™ It is already known that Van Gogh was interested in astronomy, and saw photographs of the Andromeda galaxy, first taken in 1887-88. Probably, consciously or subconsciously, the artist was inspired by the "spiral nebulae" when painting the painting. Did you know all the facts? Share it in the comments ๐Ÿ‘‡

There is an interesting natural phenomenon that makes us think about the mysteries of the world around us - it is the so-called "shyness of crowns" in trees. In some forests trees standing side by side do not touch their crowns, even if they are very close to each other. This effect looks like a pattern of thin "cracks" between the leaves, as if someone has drawn a boundary in the crowns of the trees so that they do not touch. Scientists have not reached a consensus on the exact causes of "shyness", although this phenomenon has been discussed since the 1920s. Researchers assume that trees thus avoid competition for sunlight or protect themselves from damage. Trees can literally "sense" each other's proximity and try to stay out of their neighbour's territory by keeping space between branches. One possible explanation is wind protection. If branches of different trees rub against each other, this can lead to injuries. Thus, trees may intuitively develop this mechanism to avoid injury. #TreeTuesday

The object of desire in November: Rocco x Las Jaras limited wine refrigerator. Cream palette, gold details, corrugated glass. I love objects in the spirit of modern retro, as a rule, they create comfort and become a point of attraction for family and friends.

In love with Isamu Noguchi's 1938 "Radio Nanny" in a completely inexplicable way. It is obviously a striking example of Art Deco - shots of Metropolis immediately come to mind. "Radio Nanny was the first invention for remote monitoring of children. The tragic kidnapping of the 20-month-old son of the famous pilot Charles Lindbergh in 1932 led to its creation. The device was produced by Zenith (the Apple of the 1930s), a company that produced designer appliances that people wanted to decorate their homes with. A microphone the size of a good speaker was connected to a head-shaped bakelite speaker with a wire. "Radio Nanny" by Isamu Noguchi is included in the collections of the Metropolitan and MoMA museums, and in 2008 its price at auction reached $22,800. It's even surprising that it has not yet been reissued as a speaker. Just imagine how spectacular Siri or music would have sounded from it. More photos and one interesting fact in the comments

Auguste Renoir was so in love with painting that he did not stop working even in his old age: he suffered from arthritis, but painted with a brush tied to his sleeve... One day, his close friend Henri Matisse asked: - Auguste, why don't you leave painting, you suffer so much?... Renoir limited himself to an answer: - The pain goes away, but the beauty remains... Auguste Renoir. "Still Life". 1886.
