"Thinking is hard, and writing just exposes that." So true. Using AI in my writing process has really emphasized this to me. The hard part is *deciding what to say,* and AI can't handle that aspect. It'll say ~anything you tell it to... but you still need to decide what orders to give! Where AI does help me is when I know what I want to say, but haven't fully decided how to express it. Honestly, my very best writing zips through this phase — it "writes itself." But often I still need to write when I'm not inspired, and that's when AI comes in clutch.

creativity is a generative-discriminative loop -- and sometimes switching between these two modes of thought is very challenging. AI can actually do both reasonably well, but most of all its great for injecting entropy on demand that can shake you out of a local maxima you're stuck in

Or one could simply go for a walk and touch some grass. My best ideas come from doing this, taking a shower, taking to a friend.

yeah those are all great things to do as well. Depends what you're stuck on imo -- these are all good for when you're stuck at a ~high level

Haven't gotten a copy yet but quite interested in reading this book that might be the lower level you are referring to: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/214175198-more-than-words
