It’s interesting to see people describe necessary revolution as accelerationism. Even more so when you think of the historical context. I’m not saying that it’s incorrect to use the term, but that in this context, I would hope we are all accelerationist, much like I would hope we would have all been accelerating toward the overthrow of the aristocracy of France, the dictatorships in Spain and Portugal, or the end of slavery in the imperial core. It’s a very strange notion that just waiting for these things to come to their natural end would have been preferable. This worldview must be aligned to either naïveté, stake in change never coming, or both.

On some level what is happening now is an acceleration towards that end. Not that am celebrating what is happening, but if one is eager for change what is happening is part of that process. It's an opportunity of one is willing to see it that way.

That’s how I feel. I am not in favour of the way things have gone and now I see the only likely good as revolution. It’s not ideal and it will create a lot of chaos but it’s the chaos we are already living that is provoking it. I just hope it can be as peaceable as possible.
