We've been talking with ecosystems outside Ethereum and they LOVE to not have a monopoly, and act when they see one. This is so bearish for Ethereum, mainly because the block explorer is the only one: there's the oracle for sure, and maybe others that I don't even know anything of.

They never did ANYTHING, they even did way worse by endorsing the provider as 'the name' for block explorers. I can't believe they don't realise how much an issue this is. (continue)

It's so weird that @vitalik.eth and the EF do a lot to reduce centralization and trustedness at every level of the tech and social stack, yet they fail to even properly acknowledge the centralization and trustedness of the block explorer monopoly. (continue)

I used Avalanche yesterday 😆 UX for some things is really good, i'm at home there and incentives are good they're very focused on B2B adoption, builder adoption is a byproduct

Love the movement around multichain-specific ERCs. I'm contributing to the ERC-7785 for the onchain registry of chains (that would deprecate the repo-maintained, offchain chainlist.org) and I just noticed a proposal for a new ERC to simplify multichain addresses based on ENS. Both ERCs would make for a perfect, complete address routing system not only on ethereum but across any EVM chain, whether it settles on Ethereum or not. https://github.com/ethereum/ERCs/pull/669

I call this the first 'Routescan Extension'. We were working on this for a bit more than a year. At first, it was called 'Dapp Highlight', because it was supposed to give more relevance to dapps on the explorer. But then, over time, we found out we couldn't really sell that, bc there was little to no interest. Then, 3 months ago, we pivoted and started researching how to use a different version of Dapp Highlight as a counter-weight for partner dapps on the Superchain. 'we give you something you want, we get traffic from your dapp'. We wanted traffic for http://thesuperscan.io to have more impact on the ecosystem, so that we could get more Retro Funding in the future. And the guys at Velodrome/ AerodromeFi were the first in the list and answered positively from the start. We hope to build many of these Extensions for specific dapps in the future, to drive more traffic towards routescan explorers and keep doing what we do best - breaking the monopoly. https://x.com/routescan_io/status/1866141810252263675

This is the period of the year where I want to end / finish / close everything I have pending: - read all the books i'm in progress with and all the articles I saved - watch all tv shows and movies I have in my wishlist or remove the ones that I don't want to see anymore - have inbox zero both on Telegram and mail I want to start the new year with a clean slate!

well, i'd say that AI agents and memecoin generators are generally adding more inefficiencies in the short term, but they may create synergies for the long term: a memecoin can be and have its own culture, and be a community, tokenized. so net value added should be positive: inefficiency for now, but new use case for the future.
