Today for some reason I am all about Charles Valentin Alkan, a contemporary of Chopin but because he decided on becoming a recluse and a book worm, the world discovered him only later https://www.classical-music.com/features/composers/charles-valentin-alkan https://youtu.be/KpfKBRDt8Ow?si=s8OKvlDWSpwc5Ce2

Oooh nice, reminds me a bit of Scriabin here and there. Nothing wrong with being a book worm instead of a big career in my view (my personal path minus being a prodigy haha) Also while not quite the Chopin contemporary, I've been pretty fond of Moszkowski.

It is so much more satisfying in my opinion to hang out with books instead of people :) I literally remember listening something by Moszkowski some time ago and said to myself is it really him? Must explore and find this piece.

His piano concert is exquisite. Was listening to this album on repeat when I discovered him https://app.idagio.com/albums/moszkowski-piano-concerto-in-e-major-from-foreign-lands
