There are a lot of debates around native rollups;

My first concern is whether we are reinventing sharding again and if this approach has the same problems that made us to revert sharding from Ethereum's roadmap.

Everyone keeps talking about how every company/community/application would end up running their own chain because they can capture their own MEV. 

I think the rollup roadmap aligns Ethereum to that future. Native rollups are good for the ETH asset because it keeps this MEV in the base layer, which once again would make Ethereum worse for apps looking to control their own execution experience.
