There’s a huge backlash against social progressivism now ongoing that should have been foreseeable. Progressives pushed too hard and too fast, never bothering to consolidate their gains or even check if people were still with them. On top of that they also attempted to impose a reign of terror and purging which inevitably was going to burn itself out and alienate even their usual allies.

This is not to say what is coming is going to be good and I fear we’re going to see the imposition of a particularly bad oligarchy. But this situation did not come about in a vacuum. Now that the reign of terror is over it’s also become possible to even discuss it.
