Programming is so valuable that main stream thinking is all about its face value.

Programming has always been seen as an art by its legendary practitioners. Books with titles like “art of programming”, or cute misguided use of words like “zen”, even “nature of software engineering” and the like of some Scheme course at MIT. Many of these books are from the last century a bit after the transistor came about. But they just touch passionate people I guess, and never get the spotlight.
