Guys I don’t want to go back to Austin. I really don’t. I have the best job I’ve ever had in the worst city I’ve ever lived in, and I don’t know what to do. Being away I feel so much more peaceful, energetic and free.

If I have the right context I believe her issue is with homeless druggies and crime. Which is 100x worse in the Bay Area and NYC

I lived in NYC. I moved from there. You are wrong. I have had more safety incidents in Austin living there since Feb vs 5+ yrs in NYC. It is not worse in NYC, certainly not per capita. I have been ambushed while bike riding, had to run from meth heads on the street, our office had an attempted break in. Used needles and seeing people full ass out shitting on the side of the road is a normal experience. To my knowledge, NYC does not have camps like this in public parks. https://x.com/documentingatx/status/1842749882504819068 Austin is gross. People who have lived there a long time somehow don’t see it, but fresh eyes always do. Levels noted it was gross and dangerous too and all the longtime Austinites fought him. What is the “good part of town” exactly? Like cross streets if you can. I’ll move there. But tbh the insistence there’s no problem oh all of this is fine Katherine you’re crazy Katherine don’t believe your eyes Katherine from most long term Austinites is why I know it will never get fixed/only get worse. The red and green are camps and debris, the handshakes are places to get aid. I think it’s fairly accurate to say “everywhere”…..
