New default “who can message me” setting: Followers + Recommended We’ve seen an uptick in spam, so we’re moving everyone who is currently on Everyone to Followers + Recommended. Our goal with Recommended is to maximize good users who can send you a message. If you are Only Followers, you’re unchanged.

Yeah I'll keep it on "everyone" until spam gets unbearable. My DMs are open on Twitter and it hasn't been too much of a problem there either. I get the occasional crypto scam but they're so obvious it's easy to filter out.
