No customer wants vendor lock-in. Enterprises do want to own their data, even if consumers are largely indifferent. Still customers will lean toward more privacy and control choice when given choice (See Apple privacy marketing.) Vendors love vendor lock-in and owning customer data. Vendors have been winning.
