While researching for my Eth Dublin talk I came across an essay from Fromm on alienation and now I'm going down the rabbit hole that is his philosophy. I really enjoyed the art of loving, and "To have or to be" is so far a great frame for what I've feel is going on around us - in crypto we're very far on the to have side, very little appealing to the essence. Maybe if we did, we'd feel less alienating for people outside - who knows.

Being vs having is such an enormous window to pass through. So much alienation come from focusing on the having, and not integrating. Highly recommend John Vervaeke videos on this topic and on Fromm as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy47YzvGniQ

I actually watched some of Vervaeke videos before when I was starting to look into the meaning crisis (cause researching depressing things is my hobby) - thanks for this link! There's also some parallels to draw to life and death instinct I reckon, and some threads that complement social ecology, more holistic thinking, the self as a fluid something that is interconnected not something we have. Anyway, soo many interesting philosophical thoughts out there to be explored :D
